A collaborative
workshop taught by DJ Pettitt
and Traci Bautista
with options of taking just the first two days of
painting
(one day with each of us), OR all 4 days.
We’ve created an eclectic collage and painting workshop
that combines the best of our techniques to create a beautiful
one-of-a-kind art journal
with painted collage covers and a no sew journal bag!

Traci's fun journal fits
perfectly into the my no-sew bag. You will
learn many fun surface techniques with Traci on day one,
fabric painting with DJ on day two, and then put it
all together while you make the book on day three with Traci,
and the journal bag with DJ on day four.

NEW WORKSHOP JUST ADDED
Come play with fabric, tissue, paper and paint!
Create a collage on heavy fabric that can be used in many ways; from
book covers to framed art.
No drawing, or painting skills required. We will use supplied sketches
(but you can bring your own),
layer them on fabric, add collage elements, finger paint, add texture,
and washes of color.
I will demo a collage using a face sketch, but you can choose to create
landscapes,
or abstract compositions in class as well. This technique will cross
over to any style.
Your collage will be thick and sturdy, yet flexible, and can be changed
to any size you desire.
No sewing required, but you can bring a sewing machine if you would
like to add sewing as an embellishment.

NEW WORKSHOP JUST ADDED
Lorri Scott and I have collaborated before, and have come up with
another fabulous way to combine our art.
In this two-day workshop, you have a choice of taking one class or
both. If you choose to take both,
you will
have the opportunity to incorporate your hand dyed fabric in the tote
that you make on the second day.
Sunday August 24th, Lorri will be teaching a dye workshop at her studio
located in the Santa Cruz, CA. Mountains.
Students will dye various pieces of silk and cotton fabrics along
with some silk ribbons.
I will teach the tote class on Monday the 25th, at Skyland Church's
Whitaker Hall (mountain location).
